Tenterden Lions bring Classic Cars to Tenterden
Our Classic car show was a great success on Sunday 10th September 2017 and we are so grateful to our fellow Lions for their assistance, together with all the other helpers who either marshalled traffic, put up signs, erected marquees, fences and fetched and carried equipment.
Special thanks to Evelyn Luck who kindly allowed us to use her land for the event and assisted with the hard work both prior to and during the show.
We had over 150 classic cars on the day which was so exciting after all the hard work that we had put into organising the show.
Many thanks to our judge Nigel Peck (organiser and judge of the Appledore Vintage and Classic Vehicle Rally), our commentator James Johnson (Chief Auctioneer Hobbs-Parker Classic Car Auctions) and the Mayor of Tenterden, Justin Nelson, plus the amazing PA provider (Matt from audioandvisuals.co.uk), our sponsors, trade stands and catering stands who added to the success of the show. Also Biddenden Tractorfest for the loan of their marquees and equipment, Wealden Computer Services for printing our leaflets, Iden Signs for producing our banners and signs and the WealdenAd for printing our Classic Car Programme:
Along with the magnificent range of cars that entered our show, there were children’s rides, craft and trade stands together with a choice of food and refreshments. Plus, a last-minute-arranged Novelty Dog Show for the Prettiest Bitch, Handsomest Dog and Veteran dog over 7 years, which proved very popular.
Below, are some photos of the event and winners on the day, some of who made a quick exit when the heavy shower came and have not yet been presented with their prizes.
